Counselling gives:-

 the will to achieve change from ill health to greater self esteem and a sense of wellness - a safe place where you can speak of feelings that worry or frighten you - make sense of recurring problems - challenge tendencies to repeat unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour.

The first step is to attend for an initial consultation, or assessment, with a trained counsellor. Presently the fee for this is £35 - £50 thereafter fees are set according to your means. At this meeting the aim is for your questions to be answered and you to decide whether to receive counselling, psychotherapy either for a fixed number of sessions or ongoing. Individual therapy is usually once weekly, meeting for 50 minutes. Whatever you discuss and say to your counsellor is strictly confidential, the counsellor will explain to you at the outset our code of practice in this regard. You may wish to attend as a couple or to receive counselling in a small group, both these options are provided by Phoenix and can be discussed at you initial appointment.

Patients, clients for same sex counselling, gay counselling, lesbian therapy bisexual, transsexual, counselling to transvestite patients, those experiencing discrimination, low mood, low sex, impotence or who experience difficulties as a result of making an appropriate life choice for a same sex partner may consider receiving counselling from a trained psychotherapist, therapist, counsellor in the safe, supportive environment of a small therapy group. We welcome referrals for a counsellor, therapist, psychotherapist from health professionals GPs, solicitors and other mental health organisations with patients, clients whose issues concern same sex counselling, gay counselling, lesbian therapy, bisexual, transsexual, transvestite, of ambivalent sexual orientation, experiencing discrimination, low mood, impotence having a same sex partner. Our service can be accessed from most areas of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham Redbridge, Waltham Forest, London, Essex In appropriate circumstances we are happy to offer clients for same sex counselling, gay counselling, lesbian therapy, bisexual, transsexual, counselling to transvestite patients, those experiencing discrimination, low mood, low sex, impotence i  low cost group counselling if called for, for all issues and problems.
