The London DNA clinic in Dagenham is one of a network of more than 30 private clinics that are being opened all over the UK by Liverpool-based DNA Clinics LTD who launched Britain’s first face-to-face DNA testing clinic in the city. Now there is a DNA clinic London area.

“Since we opened in Liverpool we have carried out hundreds of tests for people from as far afield as the Midlands, North Yorkshire and Glasgow which is why we have decided to develop a nationwide network of similar clinics.
“We’re delighted to be opening up a Dagenham operation. In offering paternity and maternity testing linked to face-to-face consultation the clinic will be providing a service that is unique in the area and we expect it to prove just as popular as our Liverpool outlet.
DNA samples - usually obtained from a swab of the mouth - are most commonly used in paternity tests to resolve confusion or disputes about who is the biological father of a child.
However, maternity tests are also carried out, for example to give reassurance to women who have had IVF treatment that it was their own egg that was planted in them. Paternity and maternity tests are sometimes also used to establish family connections in immigration cases.
