Phoenix Counselling Service welcomes applications from qualified counsellors to  take associate status with us. Presently we have an associate therapist, qualified counsellor in Southend, South Woodford Camden, Central London, Collier Row, South London, Finsbury Park, SE London, East Finchley, further out at Kingston upon Thames, North London, East London including, Walthamstow, Wanstead, Hackney, Forest Gate, Plaistow, Chingford Hainault, Bethnal Green, Romford, Saffron Walden, Barnet, Enfield Cockfosters, West Hampstead offering therapy counselling by a qualified counsellor, therapist, psychotherapist, self employed, independent. Our aim is to provide affordable, professional therapy and also for the counsellor to earn a reasonable wage. Frequently we receive requests for counselling from clients who live too far from our centres to be seen by our counsellors or whose therapeutic needs require specialist help. In these instances we refer them to one of our associates.

Associates Agreements

Our associate therapist, qualified counsellor practices are across London and Essex.

You will be directly responsible to the Phoenix Counselling Service Administrator & Co-ordinator and thereafter the Steering Group.

You are responsible for abiding by Phoenix Counselling Service policies. In the first instance this means abiding by BACP’s Equal Opportunities statement and it’s Code of Practice for Counsellors and it’s Code of Ethics and Complaints; and it’s recommendations regarding Health and Safety.

You will abide by Phoenix Counselling Service Code of Confidentiality.

You will hold professional indemnity insurance

You will be responsible for ensuring your practice rooms are appropriate regarding access and client safety.

You will be in supervision with a supervisor that satisfies BACP’s requirements.

You will pay all fees due promptly ( our scale of charges are available on request ).

You will be informed of Phoenix Counselling Service’s internal complaints and grievance procedure and abide by it.

Professional Developments

You will be invited to termly professional training seminars arranged by Phoenix.

You will maintain theoretical and clinical standards by supervision, attending conferences and scientific meetings, reading the literature and meeting with peer groups. You will consider further personal therapy to develop or work through difficulties that arise in the work.

You can expect that Phoenix Counselling Service will act in a professional manner in all contact with you in accordance with the recommendations of BACP.

If Phoenix Counselling Service feels the working partnership with you is unsatisfactory and decides to end contact, you will be given an account of our reasons for this course of action.

We welcome referrals for counselling from a qualified counsellor, associate therapist from health professionals, GPs, solicitors and other mental health organisations with patients, clients seeking brief therapy or long term counselling,  counselling for anxiety, loss, anger, stress, relationship problems, low self esteem. Our service can be accessed from most areas of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham Redbridge, Waltham Forest, London, Essex In these circumstances we are happy to see clients for individual and group counselling for all issues and problems. Where our qualified copunsellor, associate therapist are unable to offer help we attempt to refer clients on to more specialist services
